About Dan Dernulc

Dan Dernulc is the current Lake County Councilman representing District 4, which includes portions of Munster, Dyer, Highland, Schererville, St. John, and St. John Township. Dan was first elected to the County Council in 2010.  On the County Council, Dan Dernulc has fought to keep taxes low, introduced strategic planning, and partnered with the Town Councils within District 4 to provide better government service to constituents.

Prior to being elected to the County Council, Dan Dernulc served his community on the Highland Town Council (2004-2008) and on the Little Calumet Development Commission (2008-2010; Chairman 2009-2010). 

Dan Dernulc’s experience as an elected official gives him an advantage. Dan knows how to work in partnership with city and towns, and he knows how to work effectively with state leadership to ensure progress for the people he represents.

The Dernulc Family

Dan Dernulc is a life-long resident of Highland. Dan and his wife, Cindy, make Lake County their home because they know the potential this county has. Together, Dan and Cindy have four children, Chris, Lauren, Lindsey, Colin, and one daughter-in-law, Thalita. 

Dan Dernulc holds a BA in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University. Dan has been employed by AT&T in multiple positions since 1995. Currently, he is the Lead Interconnection Agreement Manager. In that capacity, he manages the contract negotiation process and provides a positive revenue stream for AT&T Wholesale through partnering with the Independent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC), Paging Carrier and the Wireless Carrier segments.
